Nuclear Power Plant 4 Steam Turbine & Nuclear Power Special Engineering
Since its establishment in 1989, AREA Energy has built extensive hands-on experience in the nuclear industry. Taiwan currently has four nuclear power plants, two of which remain operational today. From the very first—Chinshan Nuclear Power Plant—AREA has served as the primary MEP contractor for all four facilities. Our scope of work has included key systems such as the Automatic Radwaste Storage Tanks and various MEP building infrastructures.
Beyond our core MEP capabilities, AREA has also successfully collaborated as a subcontractor with several international suppliers, further strengthening our expertise and global engagement within the nuclear energy sector.
Mechanical Portion:
The mechanical systems are essential for supporting both nuclear operations and general plant infrastructure, primarily through thermal management. Key systems include the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system and the Fire Protection System, both of which are critical for maintaining safety, environmental control, and operational reliability during power generation.
Electrical Portion:
The electrical system is a critical element for ensuring power supply stability across all operational and safety functions. In addition to powering plant equipment, it must incorporate multiple layers of redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms in accordance with nuclear safety standards to respond effectively during emergencies. This portion also includes the Instrumentation and Control (I&C) systems, which continuously monitor plant parameters to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Plumbing Portion:
The plumbing systems encompass all piping, pumps, tanks, and fixtures required for water supply, drainage, and waste handling, supporting both facility hygiene and process needs. These systems are designed to maintain a sanitary environment and manage fluid systems throughout the plant. Advanced configurations may include specialized high-pressure piping for nuclear processes, with strict material and layout requirements to ensure safety and compliance.
With our extensive experience in the nuclear industry, we possess the knowledge and expertise necessary to follow to strict nuclear protocols and successfully complete projects to the highest standards.
